Police say the woman who reported being kidnapped and raped in Pomona last week made up the whole story.
Francia Lopez, 23, told police she was abducted by three men in a Jeep at the Parkway Trailer Park where she lives. Lopez reported that she was raped and forced to drink and do cocaine until she was able to break free the following morning. The claim led police on a manhunt for three suspects. However, police say Lopez's story wasn't making sense. According to police, Lopez said she was kidnapped at 9 p.m. Thursday but neighbors say they saw her around 11 p.m. that night.
Investigators now believe Lopez spent the night abusing drugs and alcohol. She is charged with falsely reporting an incident. If convicted, the maximum penalty could be up to a year in prison.
