Pop-up showers can briefly impact outdoor events through the weekend in the Hudson Valley

Have pool or beach time planned? Maybe an outdoor concert or party? Keep all of those plans but have an umbrella knowing a pop-up shower is possible over the next few afternoons.

For most, today will end up being a decent summer day! On warm and humid days in mid-summer, we know there's a pop-up shower or storm chance more than not. That's exactly what we are looking at over the next few days.
Yesterday's spotty downpours were mostly in Ulster County. Today, they can be anywhere but will still be very isolated again. If you are unlucky and get caught under a downpour this afternoon or evening, it can last around 30 minutes or so and can briefly slow you down or cause you to escape the great outdoors for a short time. The majority of the day will be dry though, even if you get a downpour today. Otherwise, warm and humid with temperatures in the mid-80s.
WEEKEND OUTLOOK
Overall, it is going to be a nice summer weekend! That said, a brief shower or downpour is possible each afternoon and evening. The best chance for that is tomorrow with the areas most likely impacted being west of the Hudson River - Rockland, Orange and Ulster counties.
That means the Pleasantville Music Festival will overall not be impacted by any rain! I think a worst-case scenario would be very short duration rain shower, but the majority of New York's backyard jam will have good weather - enjoy!
Take a look ahead to next week in the extended forecast below and have a great weekend!
