Poughkeepsie man admits to pistol-whipping worker in robbery

A man has pleaded guilty in connection to an armed robbery at a fast food restaurant in the town of New Windsor.
Joseph Rico, of Poughkeepsie, admitted Tuesday to pistol-whipping an employee who refused to open a safe during the March robbery.
Prosecutors say Rico was armed when he tried to rob the restaurant.
The 50-year-old faces 15 years in prison when he is sentenced in October, according to the Orange County District Attorney.
