After years without an agreement, Poughkeepsie teachers have successfully negotiated renewed contracts.

The Poughkeepsie Public School Teachers Association announced the development, stating that the school district's Board of Education unanimously approved the tentative agreement.

The parties reached a conceptual agreement on Thursday.

This development is significant as many educators in the district were advocating for new contracts, claiming they were entering their sixth school year without a renewed agreement. The new contract covers alterations to working conditions and benefits.
