Among a slew of executive orders, President Joe Biden is reversing several of the Trump administration's abortion restrictions.
Under former President Donald Trump's Mexico City policy, the U.S. can't give aid to any foreign healthcare organization that even mention abortions.
In the U.S., any organization that receives money from the government under Title 10 funding can't mention the word "abortion" either.
Critics say this has severe consequences, especially for low-income women.
Liz Zimmerman is copresident of the Westchester Chapter of the National Organization for Women. She says, "The rates of unwanted pregnancies actually went up, maternal death rates went up, and unsafe abortions were increased…because when you hide healthcare options from women, no one benefits from that."
President Biden's executive orders aim to give women more affordable health care options through Title 10 and restore aid to global abortion providers.
