Preview: NYC Mayor Adams discusses making NYC safer in Turn to Tara special 'Under the Gun'

Mayor Eric Adams spoke to News 12's Tara Rosenblum about his plan to make New York City safe again as part of the News 12 special "Under the Gun," which airs this Tuesday at 7 p.m.
Adams was asked numerous questions including if he has any national political aspirations?
"Oh, why would I? You can run the country from New York…This is New York City. What we do here will determine what happens in America. I want to be the mayor of the City of New York. That's what I asked for."
What grade would the mayor give himself on tackling gun violence?
"We have so much more to do to make our city safer. And to do that is a holistic approach is not only the guns that are on the street, but it is really stopping and damming the river that causes people to pick up guns. So I look at what we're going to do around dyslexia screening. What are we going to do around foster care? How we want to improve our school system? How are we going to empower crisis management teams? I look at the holistic approach and stating we're moving in the right direction and we're going to see the results of the how we are approaching this in a holistic way."
So what grade does Mayor Adams give Mayor Adams?
"I don't. I'm not a grader. I'm the student."
