A new company has been appointed in Yorktown to pick up the trash that has caused quite a stink for the community.

Yorktown's Town Supervisor Tom Diana says he is appointing CRP Carting as the town's new garbage and recycling hauler.

The appointment comes after the town released a contract with its previous hauler, Competitive Carting, after the company had most of its garbage trucks repossessed, leaving trash uncollected in parts of the town.
