Proposal Two, which supports providing communities with a 10-year extension to remove construction and repairs of sewage facilities from their constitutional debt limits, has been approved by New Yorkers.
This amendment enables local communities to allocate debt for sewer infrastructure investments while preserving borrowing power for other essential projects like roads, bridges, and buildings.
Over 68% of voters, totaling more than 1.5 million votes, approved the proposal, while almost 32%, with nearly 717,000 votes, voted against it.
