Gas prices are now
at an all-time high, and News 12 is on "pump patrol" for you to track what
it means for your wallet.
The national
average is breaking records and prices now
sit at $4.17 a gallon, according to AAA. The previous record was $4.11 a gallon in 2008.
The average is even higher in Westchester County
at $4.47, while in Dutchess it is $4.46, and in Rockland it is $4.48.
You may still be able to find a gallon for less
than $4 in Westchester
County.
According to Gas Buddy, the last time the price
was checked at Mobil in Bronxville it was just $3.83. The BP in Greenburgh is
at $3.99 and is the same at Costco in New Rochelle.
The lowest price found by News 12's Pump Patrol was the $4.23 a gallon when you pay with cash at the Citgo on Bradhurst Avenue in Hawthorne.
One person who spoke with News 12 says drastic times call for drastic measures. "From a hysterical point, I'm done with these prices. A skateboard might be a better option," says Craig Goldstein, of Rockland County.
