State police say a Brewster man was killed in a crash following a pursuit by police.
Authorities say troopers attempted to stop a car on Route 100 in the Town of Somers around 3:40 p.m. for not maintaining a lane. The operator of the 2019 Nissan Altima failed to comply with the stop.
Following a brief pursuit, the car left the road for unknown reasons and collided with a tree.
The driver, identified as Mark Frey, 66, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
