Parents from across Putnam County rallied with signs in their hands on Thursday, demanding schools countywide find ways to bring back more students for in-person learning.
There are six school districts in Putnam, and parents say all but one are offering hybrid or fully remote learning.
Parents say that's a good start, but more needs to be done.
Parents say the current options are hurting their kids educationally and emotionally.
They argue now is the time to figure out how to safely bring any student that wants to go back before the entire school year is lost.
One parent says her three kids have collectively been in school four days since the beginning of December.
Many school districts across the Hudson Valley have faced pushback on the other side from teachers unions, which only want teachers to return once it's safe to do so.
News 12 have reached out to individual districts and the county Health Department for more clarity about if there's a plan to bring more kids back soon. There has been no response so far.
On Friday, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention will issue guidance on reopening schools, according to the White House.
