Putnam County Executive Kevin Byrne delivered his State of the County address Thursday night.
Byrne said the 2024 budget is on track for better mental health services, fixing critical infrastructure and lowering taxes.
He touted the 10% property tax exemption secured for emergency service providers a year ago as well as lifting some sales tax on clothing.
"But as we live in this time of economic uncertainty with inflation still running rampant and increased costs of everyday goods, it is up to us as public servants to find ways, no mater how small they may seem, to provide financial relief when possible," Byrne said.
He added there is more work to be done on roads, including Route 52 in Kent and revitalizing Front Street in Town of Patterson.
