According to the Sheriff's Department, the incident occurred Wednesday when the Putnam Valley resource officer contacted police after allegedly seeing a photo of a young person with a firearm.

Police made contact with the individual, who did not attend school.

The investigation is ongoing, and it is unclear if any charges will be filed.
