The sex abuse case against a New Square rabbi is heading to trial.
Rabbi Moshe Taubenfeld is accused of repeatedly molesting a 9-year-old boy over a five-year span.
Taubenfeld's lawyer filed a motion for the case to go to trial after his client turned down a plea deal.
The district attorney had offered Taubenfeld one count of sexual conduct against a child, a felony carrying a possible 10 year sentence, in exchange for a guilty plea.
News 12 spoke with the rabbi's alleged victim who says he prays for justice and that people in New Square will finally realize that you can't hurt a child.
The judge scheduled jury selection to begin Sept. 15. Rabbi Taubenfeld remains free on a $25,000 bail.
