The race for Rockland County executive is heating up with Democrat Ellen Jaffee taking on 12-year incumbent Scott Vanderhoef.
Both candidates agree on what some of the most important issues in the county are such as tax stability, healthcare, affordable housing and open space. Jaffe has criticized Vanderhoef?s accomplishments regarding open space issues. Although, Vanderhoef says he will continue to push for the more than 600 acres of space throughout Rockland.
Vanderhoef recently appointed a committee to deal with the rebuilding of the Tappan Zee Bridge. However, Jaffee questions the timing of the bridge venture, saying it is an issue that should be dealt with daily, not just before elections.
