It has been several dreary days in the region, with this past weekend seeing portions of southern Westchester County picking up over half an inch of rain. That may not seem like much, but it is when it is added to the wet pattern of the days we have experienced over the past several weeks.
Several areas in the county, south of Interstate 287, saw radar estimates of 1-2 inches of rain since Saturday. Through this Monday, there were bouts of showers that came down, but they tapered off through the day. Patchy fog will linger into the overnight hours in several spots but eventually, that will clear out, too.
A cold front will be moving overnight, ushering in colder temperatures to settle in through Tuesday, Wednesday and into Thursday morning. Along with the drop in temperatures, gusty winds will come along on Tuesday. Winds could gust up to 40 mph. This will make the temperatures feel about 10-15 degrees colder than the actual temperatures. Temperatures will be feeling more typical of mid-January than early April.
Rain will return by late Thursday into Friday. A system will move up the East Coast bringing the rain first, then breezy winds by Friday evening. Rain will linger for Saturday, but nicer weather will finally move in starting Palm Sunday and continue to get better as next week rolls around. Get ready for temperatures to be in the 60s and 70s again!
