10ds agoHeavy rainfall has prompted the closure of several beaches in Westchester County, adding to the list of already shuttered shorelines.
In Mamaroneck, the following beaches are now closed:
- Harbor Island
- Beach Point Club
- Orienta Beach Club
- Mamaroneck Beach and Yacht Club
In Rye, the Coveleigh Club beach is also closed.
New Rochelle has closed the following beaches:
- Hudson Park Beach
- Davenport Club
- Greentree Club
- Surf Club
The closures are precautionary measures due to potential bacterial contamination in the water following heavy rainfall. No reopening dates have been announced.
