Heavy rainfall has prompted the closure of several beaches in Westchester County, adding to the list of already shuttered shorelines.
In Mamaroneck, the following beaches are now closed:
Harbor Island
Beach Point Club
Orienta Beach Club
Mamaroneck Beach and Yacht Club
In Rye, the Coveleigh Club beach is also closed.
New Rochelle has closed the following beaches:
Hudson Park Beach
Davenport Club
Greentree Club
Surf Club
The closures are precautionary measures due to potential bacterial contamination in the water following heavy rainfall. No reopening dates have been announced.
