More than four months removed from tropical storms Irene and Lee, Town of Ramapo officials are preparing to become one of the first towns in New York to take advantage of statewide tax relief. Homeowners in the area of Longergan Drive in Suffern suffered from intense flooding, and are still trying to recover. Ramapo town officials are implementing a law that will allow residents who lost half or more of their properties to have their homes reassessed and their taxes dropped.
