Starting today, and running until Friday, the Ramapo Police Department will be participating in the Governor's Traffic Safety Committee's "No Empty Chair" campaign.

This initiative aims to raise awareness about teen driving safety, particularly during the prom and graduation season for high schoolers.

Ramapo police, along with other departments across the state, will focus on educating teens about safe driving practices. School resource officers will engage with students to provide guidance on driving safely, while the community policing, traffic safety unit, and patrol division will increase their presence near local high schools. Their efforts will include both education and enforcement of traffic laws to ensure the safety of young drivers and the community.

Each day during the campaign, the Ramapo Police Department will target a specific traffic infraction. Today's focus will be on speeding in school zones, reminding everyone to proceed with caution and prioritize safety on the roads.
