A Ramapo police dog is being hailed for
finding a woman
who ran away from a neighborhood group facility.
Ramapo
Officer McRory says K-9 Ryder picked up an odor and tracked it down the
street and into the woods where the team located the person hiding behind a
tree.
The woman was safely
accompanied back to the residence and evaluated by the Spring Hill Community Ambulance Corps.
This was Ryder and Officer McRory's first track after
completing the Orange County Sheriff's
K-9 Patrol School this past
June. They will be heading back to school in September to become certified in
explosives.
Town of Ramapo Police has three active
patrol K-9 teams specializing in both narcotics and
explosives.
