The Greenburgh Central School District's planned viewing party for the solar eclipse was briefly canceled due to an issue with its solar glasses on Monday.
School officials received a recall notice from the supplier on the afternoon of the event and decided to cancel the gathering as a precaution.
However, attendees had already started arriving with their own glasses, and replacements arrived on time. Consequently, the event proceeded as planned.
Additionally, the Carmel Central School District issued a statement warning families of Kent Primary and Elementary School not to use the glasses they distributed, as they were not approved for safe solar viewing.
