A red flag warning was in effect Saturday - underscoring the danger for fires to spread easily and rapidly.
During last Friday's fire at Prospect Park that burned two acres, the city was under a fire weather watch, an alert that is less severe than today's warning.
Grilling, smoking and open flames remain prohibited in all New York State Parks.
The FDNY says it has responded to more than 230 brush fires in the last two weeks.
