Registration for Westchester County camps are now open.
Lenoir Preserve, a 40-acre green oasis tucked away in urban Yonkers, is just one of the spaces that Westchester County Parks is using for its summer camp programs.
The preserve was booking up many of its spots for kids in first through sixth grade Tuesday.
Sara Cavanaugh, with the preserve, says parents like that the program is affordable, and gets kids off of their devices.
The county opened summer camp registration earlier this year. Last year, summer registration didn't open up until June says Peter Tartaglia. with Westchester County Parks.
"It does give parents time to make plans for their kids for the summer," he says.
The county is following strict COVID-19 protocols, including mask wearing, checking temperatures and social distancing.
Spots are filling up fast, but there are still some open that people can register through the county's website.
