The grandfather and cousin of a 13-year-old Orange County boy were charged with manslaughter Friday in connection with a fatal hunting accident.
David Kingston was allegedly shot in the back by his grandfather during a hunting trip in Sparrowbush in November and left alone for more than an hour while the men continued hunting. The boy?s grandfather, Wayne Kingston, 59, and cousin, 39-year-old Jake Kingston were arraigned on charges of second-degree manslaughter and criminally negligent homicide. Prosecutors believe Wayne and Jake Kingston were more concerned about illegally hunting without a permit than getting David to the hospital after he was injured.
David Kingston?s father believes his son would have lived if he was given medical attention immediately following the shooting.
