The Department of Environmental Conservation released a report yesterday stating that it believes the Orange County Landfill is slowly sliding into the Wallkill River near Goshen.
County Legislator Tom Pahucki, however, claims the report is false, calling it another form of bureaucratic red tape and hysterical scare tactics.
Pahucki says the report was released in an attempt to prevent him from trying to protect Orange County's agricultural businesses. He says he's trying to minimize flooding effects on produce growers in Pineland and residents in Goshen, but the town has not been farm-friendly.
