U.S. News and World Report released its 2024 Best Colleges rankings, and the results favor New Jersey schools.
Coming in at No. 1 nationally is Princeton University. Princeton typically ranks in the top three, so no surprise there.
The biggest change this year is the revision to U.S. News's grading criteria. Public universities are ranking higher than ever before. Rutgers University, New Brunswick campus is now ranked the 15th best public university in the country.
News 12 spoke with two freshmen at Rutgers about the school's latest achievement. They say they aren't surprised by the ranking.
“I feel like every person in general looks at where their college stands," said freshman Shouria. "And Rutgers wasn’t at the top but when I heard it climbed to No.15…and I will say this too Rutgers will probably climb the rankings more.”
All three Rutgers campuses - New Brunswick, Newark and Camden - are listed in the top 100 universities nationally.
