The federal probe into attorney general candidate Jeanine Pirro appears to be widening.The investigation started with talk of Pirro illegally tape recording her husband. Now, the New York Post is reporting that federal authorities are looking into whether Pirro, while working as the Westchester district attorney, steered certain accused criminals to her husband's lawyer, Michael Santangelo, in exchange for favorable plea deals. A spokesman for the Pirro campaign told News 12 Hudson Valley, ?We have no knowledge of these outrageous accusations, and these leaks from anonymous sources continue to show the need for a special prosecutor to be appointed immediately."
