Residents at an apartment building in Mount Vernon say they are relieved have water service back.
The residents who live at 22 Southwest say the water was out for about four days, and it started working again on Friday. They say a pipe burst in the building.
They say it’s an ongoing issue.
“This is the fourth time in maybe two months," says resident Joe Gibbs.
They say it's impacting their quality of life.
"You can’t clean. You can’t do anything," says resident Migdalia Acevedo.
Residents tell News 12 that the elevator is usually out of service when the water isn't working.
"The elevator is also connected to the water so if there’s no water most of the time, the elevator is out," says Gibbs.
“I’m handicapped. When the elevator broke down, I couldn’t come out," says Acevedo.
News 12 reached out to Macquesten Takeover Partners LLC, the management for the building, but hasn't heard back yet.
A tenant in the building let News 12 in with her, and showed the crew the leasing and management office.
News 12 knocked on the door multiple times but no one answered.
