Residents living near a recently closed kosher poultry plant in New Square say they've seen activity at the business this week.
Community activist Althea Mundy says she saw trucks making deliveries to New Square Meats, even though a judge ordered it closed in December. Mundy, along with other neighbors, fear the poultry plant may be up and running again in violation of the court order.
The plant's attorney declined to comment about the allegations, though Deputy Mayor Israel Spitzer says trucks delivered sealed cases to temporarily store in the refrigerator at the facility.
The U.S. attorney's office is looking into whether storage is allowed after the plant's closure.
