During the tough economic times and with unemployment on the rise, one Riverdale synagogue knows how hard it is to find work.
Conservative Synagogue Adath Israel of Riverdale has launched a new initiative to help prospective employees find work. CSAIR.org now has a job bank that posts open jobs in a variety of fields. The synagogue acts as a link between employers and applicants.
According to Rabbi Barry Dov Katz, the site is anonymous. Katz says the synagogue provides employers with a condensed resume and will give more information upon request.
Katz says anyone is welcome to use the site, not just the congregation. He adds that anyone can also contribute to the site. For example, one congregant, who recently retired, put up a post about donating his old suits for anyone who needs them for an interview.
