There's a new cafe in the Hudson Valley that is designed specifically for new mothers.
The Rockland Baby Café, which is funded by the Department of Health, opened Tuesday on Main Street in Spring Valley.
"By the time they walk out of this room, anything they came in with, whether it's a worry or a question, they'll go home with some kind of answer and some plan,” says Sharen Medrano, who leads a free breastfeeding class every Tuesday morning.
Medrano also educates mothers about how to nurse in public, which is allowed by law in New York state.
The Rockland Baby Cafe is open to all mothers on Tuesdays from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Two more baby cafes are scheduled to open in Rockland County in the near future.
