(05/19/06) PEARL RIVER - State Assemblyman Ryan Karben (D) has resigned after allegations of inappropriate sexual advances towards male interns from his office.
The 31-year-old Rockland County representative issued a statement Thursday that he would step down to spend more time with his family and to focus more on his law practice. He had planned on running for re-election. News 12 Westchester attempted to report near Karben's office, but security tried to remove the crew from the premises.
Karben is married with three young daughters. No one was available for comment at the Karben home, but neighbors are shocked and say that he was politically great for the people.
