The Jewish community in Rockland County rallied for peace Thursday night at the Rockland County Courthouse in New City.
Residents and local politicians turned out for the peaceful protest.
The rally comes after hundreds of rockets hammered the country from Hamas in Gaza.
Though no Israelis have been seriously hurt in the attacks, the Jewish Federation of Rockland is making their people's suffering known.
In a statement, Congresswoman Nita Lowey condemned the fighting overseas. President Obama says the U.S. is willing to negotiate a cease-fire between Israel and Hamas.
