More than half a dozen families in Montebello are still trying to salvage their belongings after this weekend's storms flooded their homes.
Houses along Lake Road near the Mahwah River were hit hard and residents say it?s not the first time. They say they are experiencing a chronic flooding problem and that something needs to be done to control and reduce water levels. Residents say one of the biggest problems is that there is only one storm drain that serves more than 100 homes. Attempts by News 12 Hudson Valley to contact the town of Ramapo as well as the Rockland County Drainage Agency went unanswered Monday because of the Columbus Day holiday.
