Drivers across the Hudson Valley are still dealing with some flooding issues after Thursday’s heavy rains.
Eastbound lanes of Route 59 in Clarkstown, near the Palisades Mall, were closed from Cemetery to Bobby lanes toward Nyack Thursday and overnight because of flood waters.
Police partially reopened the road shortly before 5:30 a.m. this morning but they are urging extreme caution since there is still heavy ponding. They have put up cones to warn drivers to go slow.
A police cruiser that was stationed on the road with flashing lights has left the scene as conditions improve.
Officials say a light drizzle and fog are making for poor driving condition all over the region, so they are urging all drivers to slow down this morning.
