Rye community members seek to preemptively save Tiki Bar near Playland

People who spoke with News 12 say they fear that Standard Amusements, which starts managing Playland in 2023, will demolish and remodel Charley's Pier Restaurant and Tiki Bar.

Members of the Rye community say they are concerned about the future of the Tiki Bar near Playland.
People who spoke with News 12 say they fear that Standard Amusements, which starts managing Playland in 2023, will demolish and remodel Charley's Pier Restaurant and Tiki Bar.
They say it has been a fun, simple staple in Rye for decades and they do not want to see major developments there.
Standard Amusements currently has not made any plans, but neighbors say they want some assurances that if there are changes, they will be minimal.
Standard must run any changes by the county.
County officials say they have the right to approve all projects.
