Salvation Army wants a few good people
The Salvation Army is sounding an alarm for volunteer holiday bell ringers.
Salvation Army charities throughout Orange County say they are looking for volunteers because paying bell ringers $8 an hour will be difficult during the economic downturn.
In Newburgh, the pinch of the recession has been acutely felt, with the number of people in need climbing to about 6,000 a month, nearly double last year's figure.
