In Rockland County, three candidates faced off in the Democratic primary in the race for Village of Haverstraw mayor.

Ricky Sanchez won the primary with 46 percent of the vote. He beat out Michael Kohut and Craig D. Jackson. Sanchez will now face Republican incumbent Francis Wassmer in November.

Meanwhile, in Orange County, two primaries were held in the race for mayor in the City of Newburgh. On the Democratic line, Salvatore Cracolici appears to have lost to Lillie Howard, who captured 55 percent of the vote. In the Republican primary, Nicholas Valentine has an apparent victory with 63 percent of the vote against Linda Schroeder.
