The work week ends with a chance of rain, but the holiday weekend will fare better.

After several days this week of sunny skies, cool mornings and mild-to-warm afternoons, some changes are on the way to wrap up the work week.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW:

A storm system will be passing by well to the north, but it's cold front will swing through the Northeast Friday.
Skies will be clear by Friday midday. Another chance for showers will develop for the afternoon hours.
Ahead of the cold front, temperatures will trend warm and the air not feeling as cool and crisp as recently. That is because a southerly flow of air will push more moisture into the region, which will make the air feel a little warmer than earlier this week.
Once the front passes by Friday evening, a dry and cooler air mass will move in from Canada. This will set us up to have a cool and crisp start to our Saturday morning.
The Labor Day holiday weekend has the potential to be one of the best ones we have in quite some time. All three days involve no rain showers, mild to warm temperatures and pleasant levels of humidity. Get ready to enjoy the unofficial end to summer in the Hudson Valley,
