Residents of the Hudson Valley will be voting on their school budgets tomorrow.
School officials have warned that if the school budgets are voted down, cuts in education spending will be steeper, but tax hikes might be less onerous.
In both Rockland and Orange counties, budget increases are being proposed almost across the board, which are expected to result in tax hikes.
An exception in Orange County is the City of Newburgh, which is proposing a small tax decrease. On the other end of the spectrum, Monroe-Woodbury has proposed a tax levy increase of 3.47 percent.
