Monroe-Woodbury school district workers protested Wednesday in demand of a fair contract.
CSEA members were posted on Route 32 outside of the district offices in Central Valley this morning, chanting slogans and holding signs. Members, including bus drivers and maintenance workers, say they've been without a contract since last year and that negotiations surrounding several sticking points, like wages and benefits, have completely stalled.
"We want a fair contract. We've been negotiating quite a while. The district isn't budging on a lot of things important to us, things we agreed on a while ago," says CSEA President Irene Conklin.
District administrators have not returned phone calls from News 12.
