A fire ripped through an abandoned church in Spring Valley Friday, but it was not the first time firefighters were called to the site.
The building on North Main Street used to have a church downstairs and a beauty salon upstairs. It has been vacant for months and there is no power inside the structure. Firefighters say there were two people inside doing renovations, but say they were not smoking or using any type of torches.
Firefighters say they are familiar with the building. They were at the location in August fighting another fire. Fire officials say two fires in an abandoned building is suspicious, but they will leave the probe up to investigators.
