Shoppers in Hudson Valley get a head start on Black Friday

As many people feasted on turkey and watched football, some residents in Hudson Valley went shopping.
Some stores opened the day before Black Friday to get a jump on the holiday rush. The Wal-Mart in Monroe was filled with shoppers hoping to grab up bargains. Other people said they were out shopping because they had nothing else to do.
Last year the busiest shopping day was December 18, with Black Friday coming in second, according to the National Council of Markets.
