Some Bronx shoppers are outraged the new Target in the Gateway Center Mall has set aside closer parking spaces for drivers with hybrid vehicles.

Residents say parking in the garage costs the same for all types of cars, but six close spots have been designated for hybrid cars only. The Bronx borough president's office says the Gateway Center Mall is a green facility and had to include the hybrid preferred parking to qualify for energy efficient certification.

Shoppers say they think it's unfair that hybrid drivers are rewarded and may consider buying "greener" cars if they could afford them.
