Showtime Cinemas, a staple movie theater in Newburgh, screened its final films on Sunday.
The theater, located on Route 300, was forced to shut down after its landlord sold the building earlier this month, terminating Showtime's month-to-month lease.
A storage facility is slated to replace the theater.
According to the town supervisor, the growing demand for storage facilities is driven in part by an influx of new families moving to the area.
Showtime Cinemas initially opened its doors in 1987.
