It’s Small Business Saturday, one of many days to support local businesses in Westchester and the Hudson valley.
Economically speaking, it has been a rough two years for businesses both big and small. But on this Small Business Saturday, there’s help and hope in Pelham in the form of a Winter Wonderland.
Business owner Christopher Maselli's toys are racking up the sales, but that wasn’t always the case due to the pandemic.
"The last two years have been rough,” Maselli told News 12. “The amount of events canceled. On top of that, we're battling shipping charges and prices have doubled."
Enter the Pelham Chamber of Commerce and its efforts to help small business owners like Maselli as they try to recoup their losses over the past several months.
Individuals like Debbie Ripulone of Pelham and Megan O’Keefe from Scarsdale are also pitching in by spending.
“What a great idea to get everybody together,” said Ripulone. “We've been through so much.”
"It’s great to get everybody together and have people spend money on small businesses,” added O’Keefe.
This winter wonderland also attracting crowds of families to Pelham's shopping district to jumpstart the holiday shopping season.
Pelham's winter wonderland concept is apparently working well. Lots of families are here and they’re all in a spending mood.
