A 14-year-old boy is still in the hospital after being pinned under a bus from Monday night's crash on the Garden State Parkway near Montvale, as it was on its way from Lakewood, New Jersey.
The Montvale mayor posted an update online Tuesday afternoon sharing that the teen is continuing to fight and now responding to pain and they are rallying to support him.
He went on to say they will soon announce how they will show their appreciation for a hero from the incident.
The mayor shared earlier that there were 31 people on board - 29 boys and 2 adults.
News 12 New Jersey was told by the mayor of Lakewood that the bus was heading to New Square for a post-wedding celebration.
As News 12 reported, 44-year-old Joseph Itzkowitz, of Lakewood, was driving the bus when he traveled off the right side of the roadway and the bus flipped.
Investigators are still figuring out how that happened.
New Jersey State Police say the driver had moderate injuries, one young passenger had serious injuries and 13 other young passengers had minor injuries.
News 12 is still working to find out where the passengers were from and how the other injured are doing now.
