A 3-year-old boy who was dropped off at University Hospital at Downstate on Sunday and later died has been identified as Kyng Davis, NYPD sources close to the investigation say.

Police say the child was unresponsive and unconscious when two people dropped him at the hospital. Sources say it was a man and woman who dropped him off.

NYPD sources say the death is “suspicious.”

Police say the child had visible bruising when he arrived at the hospital shortly before noon. He was pronounced dead a short time later.

This is the second suspicious toddler death in Brooklyn within a week. On March 3, a 4-year-old boy was found unresponsive at a family shelter with bruises to his abdomen. His mother and another man were later arrested and charged with child abandonment and drug possession.

News 12 spoke with people claiming to be the family of Davis. They say the two people who dropped the child off were his mother and her boyfriend. They tell News 12 the woman is intellectually disabled, and they fear she may be in danger at this time.
