Dozens of people came out Friday for a day on the green to help raise money for the family of a Chester soldier killed in Iraq.
Lieutenant Louis Allen was killed by an explosion while on duty. Allen?s colleagues at the Tuxedo Teacher?s Association organized a benefit at the Central Valley Golf Course to help keep his legacy alive. Most of the proceeds from the event will go to Allen?s widow and four children. The rest will be for a scholarship in his honor.
Many who were participating in the event said it is a way to help out a friend?s family but also to remember a friend who was a hero.
