Sprain Brook Parkway reopens following closure prompted by NYPD pursuit; 1 suspect injured

Authorities said one of the suspects ran into an oncoming car after exiting from stolen van.

The Sprain Brook Parkway reopened Friday afternoon following a shutdown prompted by a high-speed police chase that resulted with one suspect injured and two others in custody.
The parkway was closed both ways between Bronx River Parkway and Central Park Avenue in Yonkers.
Authorities said it all began around 10:20 a.m. when the NYPD got a call about a stolen car from Jerome Avenue in the Bronx.
The suspects of the stolen van headed to the Bronx River Parkway.
When Westchester police attempted to stop the blue van that was going northbound three males got out.
One of the suspects ran into an oncoming car going that was headed southbound. He was taken to Westchester Medical Center where he was listed in stable condition.
The other two suspects were taken into custody. Charges were pending for those two suspects as of Friday evening.
All roads reopened around 2:30 p.m.
